I’m Candace Strong, founder of Master Plan Accounting. I work with service and maintenance businesses — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, property maintenance — that have grown past the point where a basic bookkeeping setup is enough. My clients are doing real revenue and making real decisions, and they need financials that can keep up.
What I do is different from what most bookkeepers do. I don’t just maintain your books — I structure them. That means building your chart of accounts around how your business actually operates, setting up your COGS correctly so your gross margin is real and not a guess, mapping payroll so your field labor and overhead are separated the way they need to be, and designing a month-end close process that holds up under scrutiny. I’ve rebuilt broken systems for businesses across multiple industries, corrected years of compounding errors, and built processes reliable enough to satisfy SBA lenders, state regulators, and bank compliance teams.
I’ve been doing this work for over a decade. I understand accounting at a design level — not just an operational one — which means I can look at your books and see not just what’s wrong, but why, and what it will take to fix it for good.
